    Description

From the estate of a naval pilot who brought it back from post-WWII Japan, a vintage 1945 copy of "Air Asahi" magazine, combined issues 8 and 9. This was an airplane enthusiast's magazine that went out of business in 1945 when the US occupation began. I see fighter planes and helicopters and a lot of really detailed information.  About 8" x 10", 32 pages including covers, softcover.
The magazine in very good condition with minor dog earing and tanning. The binding is still tight. No tears or writing.
A rare item and a superb awesome addition to any collection or library. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed for protection and always combine shipping. Please see my store for more museum grade historical artifacts.
Background: From the estate of a Navy pilot who entered the war just in time to be stationed off the coast of Japan, preparing for the invasion, when the atomic bomb was dropped. He flew seaplanes - Martin Mariner PBMs - but was sent to Combat Air Intelligence school and mostly seems to have been kept very busy on staff with intelligence work. He was later a state representative and senator, and a successful businessman. He was a person who kept EVERYTHING. I recently acquired a collection of WWII pieces from his estate, along with a good amount of political, civil defense, cold war, and states' rights material.
