    Description

    For your consideration is a super nice antique entry mortise lock manufactured by Russell & Erwin MFG Co. in New Britain Conn. in the late1800's.
    The lock is no. P1248 as shown in the 1899 Russell & Erwin hardware trade catalog
    .
    The set comes with 2 brass knobs, brass roses, thumb turn, swivel spindle, & cylinder lock with 2 keys
    .  The mortise strike is reversible - it will work with a right or left hand swing door.  The mortise lock is in excellent functional condition - It has been refurbished - all parts disassembled, cleaned and properly reassembled.
    Dimensions are as follows:  Face plate: 7-3/4 x 1-3/16",
    Face to center of hub (set back): 2-7/8", Center of hub to center of lock cylinder: 3-3/4".
    Dimensions of the lock body are: 5-5/8" x 3-3/4 x 3/4"".  Spindle washers included for knob fine spacing adjustment.  Comes with everything you see in the pictures.  Does not come with strike plate or mounting screws.  Please look at the pictures carefully as they are considered part of the description.  Make sure to ask questions before you bid.
