Description

Members of the Mosasaur family roamed the world's oceans and shallows during the late Cretaceous period, with fossilized remains having been found on every continent, including Antarctica.
Snakes and Monitor Lizards (such as the Komodo Dragon) are their closest living relatives.
Several distinct species of Mosasaurs have been identified, ranging from the size of a young Alligator (6-7 feet long) up to a terrifying potential of 40-50 feet in length (maybe more), longer than a T. Rex from nose to tail.  The MOSASAURUS was the largest of these.  Despite living during the "Age of the Dinosaurs", Mosasaurs are technically NOT considered to be Dinosaurs, instead referred to as "extinct, carnivorous, aquatic lizards".
Fresh off of its scene-stealing appearances in "Jurassic World", the Mosasaurus would have definitely enjoyed a meal of a shark or of a hapless, corporate babysitter.  However, it is EXTREMELY unlikely to have been able to put on such an acrobatic, leaping display to catch its meals or snacks, preferring instead to dine on fish, turtles, ammonites, and even smaller mosasaurids that swam closer to the surface.
Offered here are 6 authentic MOSASAURUS TEETH, each crafted into a Pendant set in Sterling Silver for this listing.  These specimens were found in Morocco and are around 70 million years old.  Considering the extent of dental care available back then, these are truly spectacular specimens.  Let's hope YOUR teeth are in such good shape in 70 million years!
As much as a ruler and a quarter are included in each photo for reference, all measurements below are to the nearest 1/16th of an inch and are rounded down, NOT up.  The first measurement, length/height is measured from the top of the "capped setting" to the tip of the tooth and does not include the bail (jump ring).  The second, width, is measured from side to side at the thickest part of the tooth (NOT the setting) as the pendant would hang on its chain while the third, thickness, is measured from front to back, again of the tooth itself, NOT the setting.   The listed weight of each piece does not include the chain.  The photos show the front and back of each tooth, the way it can hang on its chain.
Each pendant is custom made by hand, based on the individual specimen.  The inside of the bail is stamped 925 to authenticate that this is a Sterling Silver setting.  To make this a complete gift, we also include an 18" (with a 2" extension) snake chain.  The chain that is included is Sterling Silver plating over Brass, NOT solid Sterling Silver.  As chain lengths and style are highly personal, it is possible to easily replace the included gift chain with a different one of your choosing, whether from your own collection or from your favorite jeweler.
All photos were taken with 3 daylight, color-balanced, compact fluorescent
bulbs to provide even and consistent lighting results.  As a result, I have NOT had to adjust the brightness or contrast of the posted photos.  They do show the most accurate color and shading nuances.  However, the bright "hot spots" visible on the top on each side of the pendant's capped settings are the results of reflections from these lights.

After deciding which pendant you want, be sure to include a note either through ebay or Paypal, stating which numbered specimen you prefer.  The above pictures are of the actual pendant that you will receive.  You may want to include a second choice in case someone else's order comes in first.  This is because I usually leave the photos of a sold specimen in the listing for a few days after the customer receives that pendant.  This way, the pendant and the photo can be compared to be certain that the customer is satisfied.  All orders will be honored in the order in which payment is received.  If no numbered preference is included, we will pick out what we feel is the nicest one available at that time.
