This is a GUARANTEED REAL assemblage of fossilized dinosaur eggs from a Hadrosaur dinosaur. Most ''duck-billed'' dinosaurs laid their eggs in nests of a dozen or more eggs. Usually, hatching and scavenging damaged the nests, obliterating any trace of the eggs that remained. Occasionally, a few eggs survived predators and the elements, and eventually became fossils. Because of their delicate nature, intact eggs are very rare in the fossil record. Dinosaur eggs that retain their original shape and eggshell are some of the most collectible fossils in the world.
This is a REAL Dinosaur (Hadrosaur) egg nest double from the Cretaceous of China. The colorful eggshell is wonderfully preserved and covers most of the entire surfaces of both eggs! The large eggs are very inflated and display beautifully on the natural pedestal of matrix. It is quite rare to find two dinosaur eggs with this much eggshell fossilized together (the back side of one of the eggs is missing a little eggshell - see photo #5). This is a very impressive Hadrosaur dinosaur egg double, and one of the more displayable doubles we have offered on eBay. It is a large, collectible example of a REAL dinosaur egg nest from the Cretaceous of China - a great specimen for your collection, to display in your home or office, or for a unique gift for the person who has everything.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen.
