VINTAGE BAKELITE PLASTIC BELT BUCKLE
Interesting and unusual vintage Art Deco era molded Bakelite plastic belt buckle set measuring 4" long when hooked together - each piece is 2" long by about 1-1/2" wide. Buckle pieces resemble ice cream cones - the base of each is banded and tiered in a deep brown (almost black) with the solid dome top colored Halloween orange. Back is complete with a metal bracket and hook closure, as well as metal 1-1/8" wide brackets through which a cloth belt would thread.
Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, hairlines, discoloration or damage - please note, there is a flat, shaved area of the side edge where the buckle meets - this is from production and not damage - these have been tested as Bakelite with Semichrome. Always planned on making the buckle into a Halloween pin or as separate ice cream cone pins - just never got around to it. The pieces are so chunky and awesome - nice addition to any collection or display!
