All motors will continue to run even as their capacitors go out of tolerance. As the capacitance lessens, the motor will dissipate more power, resulting in thermal stress which can cause premature failure of that motor. The LBK500 protects compressors and fans by ensuring “out of tolerance” capacitors are identified and notification is provided to confirm and replace the capacitor.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION: The LBK500 isolates each run capacitor and quickly checks to ensure that it is within tolerance before the motor/compressor starts. The capacitor value and tolerance are set by the technician before installation. If either capacitor is out of tolerance, the red LED will light and the motor will not be allowed to start. Once the capacitor is confirmed to be out of tolerance and replaced, the LBK500 will allow the motor to start and the green LED will light.
