    Description

This is a strange and mysterious specimen with natural parallel notched lines on it.  This chert stone (20 grams) was found in the East Kansas River (Kansas) and is dated to the Pennsylvanian Age (323 - 290 million years ago).
Chalcedony minerals have filled the notches
    .
I posted this example on a well-known fossil Face Book site, and was informed that the stone 'may have' formed around the fossil, which 'may be' the ribs of a Brachiopod.
    100% NATURAL
The sale includes the first color picture, which I created myself.
