    Description

    Psittacosaurus Fossil Dinosaur Bone
Femur, Fibula, Tibia and Other Unknown Parts
    ,
    Mongolia, Early Cretaceous 126-101 MYO,
A   section of the femur, tibia, fibula and other unknown parts that are from the ceratopsian dinosaur - psittacosaurus. The psittacosaurus or "parrot lizard" measured about 2 meters (6.5 feet) in length and was probably bipedal most of the time.  As with most ceratopsians, psittacosaurus was herbivorous perhaps consuming a nut or seed rich diet.  This specimen is a fused section containing a femur section, a fibula section and a tibia section with additional unknown parts.   The bone sections were found fused together probably adhering to each other over the course of millions of years. An excellent fossil in good condition.   Cretaceous 126-101 MYO, Mongolia.
