    Description

    Small Hadrosaur Hand Bone
This tiny hand digit comes from the Hadrosaur, Edmontosaurus.  Edmontosaurus was a huge herbivore, adults reached lengths of over 40 feet long.  With the discovery of numerous specimens, including some excellent skeletons, Edmontosaurus is one of the best known dinosaurs.  Edmontosaurs were large duck billed dinosaurs whose name means "Edmonton Lizard".
This juvenile Hadrosaur hand digit was found in one piece needing no restoration.  The small hand bone has some river tumbling wear.  The Edmontosaurus hand bone has great detail and preservation with a dark brown coloration.  All around a nice example of a juvenile Edmontosaurus hand bone.
The Edmontosaurus hand bone measures:  1 1/8" inches wide by 1 5/8" inches in length.
This small Hadrosaur hand digit was dug out of a microsite in the Hell Creek Formation of Carter County, Montana.  The fossil was collected on private ranch land with the owner's permission.
