    Description

Offered here are six WWII items related to Fred K. Sanborn, a Staunton, Va. man who was a POW of the Germans in Europe. The items are (1) a POW mailgram from Sanborn to his wife, Chloe, dated Dec. 20, 1944 (2) an Aug. 26, 1945 letter frin Sanborn to his mother (3 and 4) telegrrams from Chloe to her mother-in-law and from Fred to Chloe, dated Aug. 13 and Aug. 30, 1945 (5) a newspaper clipping from the Staunton Leader about Sanborn and (6) a funeral card, most likely for a membeer of Sanborn’s family.
All pieces are in good condition, with the exception of the POW mailgram. It has turned brown (the paper was very cheap) and is beginning to come apart a bit where it was folded. Still, the full page of text is unaffected and easily readable.
